Read-only
I have a few ancestors that are read-only. I wonder why they don't let us post wonderful things about our ancestors? I have a beautiful picture of Joseph Fielding Smith as a young child and they won't let me post it. I have another beautiful letter written to Joseph Fielding Smith about his son Lewis from a fellow soldier during the war as a tribute to his service and character. Why am I not allowed to post these??

Hi Welcome to FamilySearch community. As you already know, you are not able to make changes or additions to read only records. However, there is a process to have changes made. Here is the process:
"To report an error in a read-only record or provide additional information, please post your question in the FamilySearch Community. Please include what you would like to change, and the reasons. Do not include any private information, like username, helper number, or email address.
A moderator can move your question to a team who can help. The team contacts you through a private message in Community if they need more information."
In the case of photos or stories, you could attach them to your posting. Hope this helps.
