FIND
When I click on 'Find', then "PID #", and either type in the PID or paste it in, I keep getting an error message = either 'not found' or a message that states something is wrong and not working. I know the PID is correct, as when I type in the name, place and birth/death, the person comes up with the PID I tried using.

@LenoreAkerson1 can we get some more specific info? Is this happening with every PID or just some? Can we get an example of a PID you got the error message for? What device and browser are you using? Could your FamilySearch session have timed out and you need to sign in again?

@JJLAN, if you already have the ID, why don't you just use it, instead of searching for it again?
If you're on a Family Tree page, you can click on Recents, paste the ID into the box, and click Go (or just hit Enter on your keyboard). Alternately, you can delete the ID currently at the end of the URL in your browser's address bar, replace it with the ID you want to go to, and hit Enter.
If you're not on a Family Tree page, select any of the options under Family Tree to go to one, then follow the directions above.

I use FIND on a second window when I am going through my FOLLOWINGs. Sometimes I need to see why there was a change versus what I have in my personal data base. So I have two windows open - Following and Find. The Find for the past several weeks has not been working when I paste in a PID i've copied from the Follwing page.

@LenoreAkerson1, there is undoubtedly something wrong with Find By ID currently, but you really don't ever need it.
For your example: on the Following page, if you click a profile's name, it brings up the summary card. On that, you can right-click "Person" and choose Open Link in New Tab. (The details may vary by operating system and browser, but they all have the capability.) Or you can stick with your current setup, but use the box at the top of the Recents menu on the Find page. Or, once you have a profile open in another tab, you can copy the next ID on your Following page and paste it in place of the previous one in your browser's address bar on that other tab.

if there is an extra space in you copy paste you may get the behavior that you experience. I would suggest you have difficulty with the find by ID use the drop down associated with the Recents link and paste the ID in the box at the top. See if that works for you

Thank you - Recents works great!
