We are sorry you have not received your verification code to open your account.
You will need to call 1-866 406-1830 to speak to someone - they in turn will contact a supervisor to resend the code. Are you trying to do this via mobile phone or email. The missionary who answers can also verify that you are using the correct mobile phone and/or email.

Some less common email domains do not work for receiving the verification email. If this is the problem, you may need to get a free account on gmail, yahoo, or other large provider.

I work at a family history center at night, with youth under 13 years of age so there is no one at family search to talk to at night. I was told the 10 minute time is a best guess and indeed could take up to 3 hours via email or 20-30 minutes via phone. The issue of creating an account for this and other age groups seems spurious as some times there is no problem with creating or recovering an account and at other times it will not work. I was told this is a very common problem throughout the world and appears to be a technical issue with software program or firewalls within family search programming. It seems that something as simple as CRN plus DOB should be sufficient justification to denote that the request for account creation/recovery is legitimate.

For youth under 13 years of age, the parents must call. The parents can control a youth's account from his/her Churchofjesuschrist.org account. The parent can sign in then go to Account settings and then Childrens settings. From there they can create an account, change the username or password or delete an account. Youth over 13 do not need parental permission and can handle their own accounts. It would be great if the parents were notified in advance of a meeting so that the parents can either call Family Search or manipulate the account online to avoid having to have youth leader make the call. As mentioned if the youth is under 13 years, the missionary would need the parents permission to speak with another person about the youth's account. Now that we close at 6pm, having the parents know in advance will eliminate a lot of problems for the youth and their leaders.
