Hello Familysearch and thanks for everything you do!

Quick question: For Carroll County TN, is there any update on when below microfilms will be available online? The remaining deed books up to 1887 have been available online for years.

944079: Deed index, A-Z, v. 1-4 1822-1904

944081: Deeds, v. A-B 1822-1832

944082: Deeds, v. C-D 1832-1840

Thanks,

Johan

There is no number in the DGS column, which means these films haven't been digitized yet.

However FamilySearch announced in September 2021 that all microfilms have been digitized.

So either these are microfiche, which haven't been digitized yet, or these films have been somehow overlooked.

Hopefully a FS staff member will respond and give more information about this odd situation.

Thanks for your informative reply on a SUNDAY!!!

All the other deeds I mentioned are on microfilm, since this is in the same series with continuous film numbers I'm assuming that these missing items are also on microfilm.

FS Staff please let me know.

    Many thanks again.

@Johan Akesson Since we are told that all of the microfilms have been digitized, I have to assume that we have a cataloging problem here. As noted 944079, 944081, and 94408 in the catalog entry: https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/301931?availability=Family%20History%20Library show no DGS numbers. Would you please email books@familysearch.org and report this apparent error in the catalog entry? Hopefully, the cataloging folks will be able to get this updated.

@Johan Akesson I got some feedback from cataloging on your report to them. Learned some things that I want to pass on. They tell me that, although all microfilms are digitized, not all are fully processed for publication and some still have not been assigned DGS numbers. So, not a catalog error, as I assumed it was.

No idea how long to expect it to take to complete processing. Since the surrounding records are available online, I assume all will be when things are completed. Meanwhile, you might want to contact Carroll County, TN Register of Deeds to learn of other ways to see the records. You can find contact info (and maybe some other helpful stuff) on the wiki:

    Thank you N Tychonievich.

I have contacted Tennessee State Library and Archives for their suggestions, they do have the microfilms as well.

    Thanks,

    Johan
