For batch MSG4-Y2N lancashire england

The fourth baptism on the document shows Joannes Kelly, son of Helenae Kelly baptized in 1894.

In left margin there is Latin I do not understand. It seems to read "Mal. con?iaxit cum Helena Blon? nee Banner in hac ecclena 1-2-36" Can someone translate?

    Hello,

As far as I can tell it says "Mat (marriage) contracted with Helena Blong, nee Banner, in this church (in hoc ecclesia) 1st February 1936" so it is a record of the marriage of John Kelly to, presumably, a widow (or less likely divorcee) named Helena Blong. Looking at the instructions about what to index, it looks as though you should make a separate entry for the marriage.

    I hope this helps.

    Hilary.

thx SO much. I couldn't find a translation for 'contracted'. Since mother was Helenae it was confusing.
