Lines 24 and 25, James Conlon and his mother, Julia, Image 21 of the 1900 census in Hurley, Ulster, New York, still shows both James and his mother as "James, age 45"

The records are only findable and viewable by a browse, not by a name search.

@Áine Ní Donnghaile, I was able to find Julia Colon, the mother, using a name search of the 1900 United States Census: it shows her name in the Search Results and identifies Parents & Children as Julia Conlon. However, it connects to the index record details page of James Conlon.

As you indicated, James Conlon is not found, using a name search. All very odd.

I will put this issue in the queue for engineers to review and resolve. Whether N Tychonievich or I,, it will get to the right place, however I certainly understand and agree with your preference. As usual, we are unable to indicate when the problem will be fixed.
