How do I attach a source to a person who was on the source document but not indexed into the record
On the Italian civil birth records that I work with, the Mom, Dad and Child have been indexed into the record, and Source Linker creates individual sources for each of them just fine. However, many times a note has later been added in the margin of the document giving marriage information for the Child. It provides the name of the Spouse, marriage date and place.
So, it's easy enough to create a new profile for the Spouse, marry them to the Child, create a marriage event and attach the Child's source record to the marriage relationship. So far, all is well.
However, I would like a source to tag/reference where her name came from. Since she wasn't indexed into the original record, I see no way that Source Linker can help me.
So, if I just attach the Child's source to her, then when Reviewing Attachments, it shows the Detach warnings on everyone in the record. So, that isn't right.
So, I try to make a copy of the Child's source, renaming it like "Spouse entry in Child.....". But, it doesn't let me rename the copy. If I attach the Spouse to the copy of the Child's source, at least there are fewer warnings when Reviewing Attachments.
There has got to be something simple that I'm missing. My primary goal is to allow others to reference the original image so they can check the name and marriage location (they are not always easy to transcribe), yet not make it appears that there is a problem in Source Linker that others will try to "fix".
Here is an example PID that shows this problem. G6PY-PLS
