    What relation does the first cousin once removed's wife have to me? Is she my Aunt-in-law?

    Just tack "-in-law" onto your relatives' own terminology.

    This is great. But, if it's accurate, I'm more confused that ever! In the multicolored chart, shouldn't all of the cousins under the grand uncle/aunt be second cousins? And shouldn't all the cousins under the great grand uncle/aunt be third cousins?

    @Jaqueline Lucille McDonald

    The relationships on the chart is based on how they are related to you. Notice the different generation indicators on the right of the chart. Each generation would have a different relationship to you.

    the Cousin's chart was very helpful, especially when you are trying to explain how so many people are related to one another when you come from a BIG family to start with, generations back. Thanks for sharing this information.

    I don't blame you for feeling more confused. As I have mentioned to others the "... Removed" is illogical and hides the vital information of whether a distant relative is generationally senior to you or generationally junior to you. First cousins, second cousins, third cousins, etc. are all you generational contemporaries.

    I’m building a family tree. Where should I stop adding family members? Second and third? Just add first cousins?

    You can add as many generations as you would like.

    No such relationship is possible. You might be thinking of your Fourth Cousin with whom you would share Great Great Grandparents.

    My grandparents were divorced. They had 2 children, My Mother being one of them. After the divorce, they both married again. My Grandmother married the brother to my Grandfather. What would their grandchildren, from that union, be to me?

    Thanks so much. I’m a visual person so the charts were less confusing (to me) than the written explanations.

    Lady Diana Spencer + I share a 14th great grandfather - does that make us 14th cousins once removed?

    How are two people who are my second cousins, third cousins with each other? I would think that they would be seconds cousin to each other too.

    Another thing that doesn't make any sense to me is that 23andMe is stating that someone who is my second cousin is my sister's fifth cousin

    @iriesounds11

    Are your 2nd cousins both in the same family? Also, check with 23andMe how they determine cousin relationships.

    I have a question about relationships between my first cousins.

    Are my paternal first cousins (my father's brother's children) related to my maternal first children (my mother's sister's children)?

    How do I find this relationship in your charts?

    They are only related to each other if they share a common ancestor.

    I didn't get to finish, I was going to say in my remark that I'm sorry if I sound terrible about this DNA . But since I'm not finding my GR.,Gr.,Gr., Grandfather, and he is the only one I'm concerned about and just maybe My Heritage found him. I shouldn't have to sign on with several

    other family tree Companies. Technically, I understand some company owns all family tree business. Is this true? Including Family Search ?

    I hope that you have the other part of my note that I wrote, this is the rest of it., Deanna D
