I have some South Africa records which I can access, but which do not show up in Search Records.

For example, see Ronald Louw's marriage in 1937. If I search for this record I get "No Results Found".

How can I search for these records in future please?

I searched for a marriage in South Africa, in 1937, for Ronald Louw, from the main search page: https://www.familysearch.org/search/

The results page, without further filtering, exact not specified, has 411 results, and the first record displayed is the 1937 marriage of Ronald Clifford Louw.

@RobinWilson27, I'm sorry that you're have problems searching the historical records. I wonder if you could provide some more details. If possible, please provide the URL for your Search of Ronald Louw's marriage.

I was able to find the marriage, but I used a very simple search. You can see it here:

    https://www.familysearch.org/search/record/results?q.givenName=Ronald%20&q.marriageLikeDate.from=1937&q.marriageLikeDate.to=1937&q.marriageLikePlace=South%20Africa&q.marriageLikePlace.exact=on&q.surname=Louw

So, please show me what you used for your search; then I can see if there is a problem somewhere.

Thanks. I searched from his Wikitree profile page using a Chrome app called Sourcer.

    Here are the results:

    image.png

    The URL is:

    https://www.familysearch.org/search/record/results?q.sex=Male&q.givenName=Ronald%20Clifford&q.surname=Louw&q.birthLikePlace=Mudgee,%20New%20South%20Wales,%20Australia&q.birthLikeDate.from=1911&q.birthLikeDate.to=1919&q.deathLikePlace=Simonstown,%20South%20Africa&q.deathLikeDate.from=1980&q.deathLikeDate.to=1988&q.marriageLikePlace=Kalk%20Bay,%20Cape%20Province,%20South%20Africa&q.marriageLikeDate.from=1935&q.marriageLikeDate.to=1939&q.spouseGivenName=Joyce%20Ida%20Marion&q.spouseSurname=Landon&q.marriageLikePlace.1=Cape%20Town,%20South%20Africa&q.marriageLikeDate.from.1=1973&q.marriageLikeDate.to.1=1977&q.spouseGivenName.1=Jean&q.spouseSurname.1=Dawe&f.recordCountry=Australia&f.recordCountry=South%20Africa

So am I using the wrong set of filters?

Here's another set of filters (Marriage only):

    image.png

    URL was:

    https://www.familysearch.org/search/record/results?count=20&f.recordType=1&q.givenName=Ronald&q.marriageLikeDate.from.1=1973&q.marriageLikeDate.to.1=1977&q.marriageLikePlace.1=Cape%20Town%2C%20South%20Africa&q.sex=Male&q.surname=Louw

Why is the URL specifying things like Cape Town (Location is blank in my form)?

Thanks - that worked for me too:

So there must be filters in place (from the Sourcer app) which are stopping the wanted result.

Can anyone pinpoint the likely one(s)?

I could run some tests, comparing the search URLs.

I would suggest you touch base with the creator of the Sourcer extension. There is a "contact the developer" link on the Sourcer page in the Chrome Web Store.
