You'd better put a link to what you are talking about, unless it is Noble County, Indiana Marriage collection, 1859-1956. That is what came up when I searched for the MFID: 02446806. And if that is what you intended to reference, then yes, it is a valid source.

Apparently they have to be viewed at a FHL. And for dontiknowyou, what exactly did you mean by your question? I've begun to read several interpretations. I recently have become involved in lineage verification, and certain types of sources are not allowable, usually because they are not primary sources. Any source that is an index, for example. Was that what you meant? Is the source valid for genealogical standard of proof? If so, since I cannot see the images (I'm not in a FHL) I'm not sure what they are and can't offer any answer.

This "REF: F896316 S/N: 00117-4 MFID: 02446806" is the entire content of a note on the profile of a Russian German father of an immigrant in North Dakota. It is not clear if the profile person ever left Russia. The profile and note were made in 2013. My question is about what this code might refer to. Is it recognizable as a record or index collection somewhere, or is it private?

At the moment FT is not serving pages. Boo.

Being married to someone who has lots of Russian German ancestors in North Dakota, you are wetting my appetite. Well, the MFID: 02446806 part is probably not related, unless the couple in question was married in Indiana. Is that possible?
