frustration with links
I look at my family tree and see blue hints on the names. I click on the hints numerous times and no response. Getting very frustrated with trying to use FamilySearch.

I am not having any trouble opening hints, so what you are experiencing is not a system wide problem. See, we are diagnosing your situation already, heading toward a solution. Let's dig deeper...
Sounds like you are using one of the tree pedigree views. Is that correct? Mobile app, or web interface?

I have the issue while viewing my Family Tree. The issue occurs in both Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

@Randall Collins, what happens if you refresh/reload the page? It's not showing any blue on them when I look, only on their daughter and son-in-law:
In other words, the links aren't going anywhere because there's nowhere for them to go, but of course that's only half of the problem -- the other half being, why is it showing them if they're not actually there? Hence my question about refresh/reload -- perhaps the page was stale or outdated.

@Julia Szent-Györgyi after much effort I was able to get the hints to open. I reviewed and attached them to the person's record. After which the hints no longer showed.
