found website: geneteka.genealodzy.PL with many millions of records searchable, many with scans attached.

It was very useful and extensive, some records back to the 1600s. I have found many records for ancestors in many branches of my tree. I believe you should mention this website in your wiki for Polish research. --Madeleine Hahn

    On the list of "Finding Aids" on the "Poland Church Records" page (https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/Poland_Church_Records) it mentions Geneteka.

    Madeleine - anyone can edit the Wiki. That's the basis of the Wiki concept - all can contribute.

    However new editors have to be approved before they can start editing: https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/FamilySearch_Wiki:Contributing_to_the_Wiki

    It is therefore not as simple as clicking "edit" and adding the information.

    The process to become an editor is not arduous.

    I was simply pointing out that the Wiki is like the Tree. Neither is yours, mine, or theirs.

    @Áine Ní Donnghaile

    From your comments it appears posting / amending Wiki articles has become easier over the last few years. I acquired editing rights a few years back, added some information, but this was immediately taken down - I assume by a (FamilySearch) site moderator. There was nothing controversial about my entry (honestly!), but apparently it showed details only a FamilySearch employee was authorised to input.

    So, in my experience, editing the Wiki is not an activity one can compare with the open-edit nature of Family Tree.

    @Paul W

    The Wiki is much less popular than it was a few years ago, and edit warring has fallen way off.

    @M C Hahn

    Is the Wiki entry about Geneteka satisfactory?

    @Paul W I also have edit rights, and I've never had anything removed.
