Need Filter or Search Options By Location ASAP!!!
I'm a 20+ Temple & Family History Consultant in McKinney, Texas & have needed this option before but with the recent introduction of the 1950 US Census indexing, we now really need a way to search for our own relatives by location. Right now there's only 4 states available for indexing & 2 are almost done & I have very few relatives from these areas & as discussed in RootsTech, I want to focus on my family members & help get them done first. It would be very helpful to have a way to filter or search, like we can do thru temple ordinances to be completed, but looking thru our own ancestors for those who were born in Tennessee, or married in Hawaii or died in Texas or whatever- city, county, state, country. If there is a way to currently do this, I don't know how & I called your help line & they don't know how either, so I'm quite sure it doesn't currently exist but WE REALLY NEED THIS & WOULD HAVE MANY WAYS IT WOULD BE USEFUL & HELP OUR EFFICIENCY & EFFECTIVENESS!!! Please help solve this problem- also I've been hearing for years now that we would SOON have the ability to see our own living family members on FamilySearch in a group we could choose, much like the shared Family Groups now done in Ordinances. SO WHEN IS THIS COMING??? IS IT REALLY COMING SOON? WE'RE ALREADY PAST SOON- please advise. I'm a daily user on FamilySearch.org so it would be EXTREMELY HELPFUL!!! Please feel free to call me if questions: 469-667-4216 Terry (Teresa Lee) Ferguson

MyHeritage has had the same idea. This tool will scan your family tree and suggest people who are likely to be found in the 1950 census.
