Two different users on the computer at the same time

Is there a way to have two different users logged in on the same computer at the same time? Meaning, I'm doing work on my line and my husband's line, but I currently have to log out of one in order to see the other; I then lose what and where I was when I log out.

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

    Just in passing ...

Short Answer: 'Yes', with them using DIFFERENT "Browsers".

eg. 'Google' "Chrome"; and, 'Mozilla' "FireFox"; and, 'Microsoft' "Edge".

My Wife and I do it all the time ...

Well, mostly me, working on her "Ancestral" Lines; but, having mine, up and running, at the same time.

I hope, that this may help/assist, somewhat.

ps: I have had, up to THREE (x3) Users/Patrons, using the SAME Computer, together (at the SAME 'Time') ...

pps: Of course, they ALL have to co-operate

    Brett,

Do you different browsers or just different tabs or maybe different windows in the same browser? I usually several tabs as well as several windows running at the same time using firefox.

Some browsers offer a "private browsing" option that can get around a website's device=user mentality, but using different browsers is usually easier to figure out.

Also, I believe you need to use different browsers if you want to be logged in at the same time (with the same username) to the beta and production versions of FamilySearch.

    Robert

    Just in passing.

DIFFERENT Users/Patrons, on the SAME Computer, MUST basically use, DIFFERENT "Browsers".

[ Note: Except, of course, when using "Private"/"Incognito" 'Windows', which I do not ... ]

I use both, MULTIPLE, 'Tabs'; and, 'Windows', all the time; but, with my 'Credentials', in the same "Browser".

Often, I have Two (x2) "Browses", open; and, operating, at the same time, just for myself.

Although, I did not point it out; as, I did not want confuse 'Becky'; or, any Users/Patron, for that matter ...

Like, 'Julia'; and, 'Paul', have proffered ...

    (1) There is "Private"/"Incognito" availability is "Browses", that allow more than one User/Patron, to use the same "Browser", on the same computer; but, I do not use such - although, it 'seems' to work.

    and,

    (2) I have had, on occasion, both, the "Production" (ie. "Live") Environment, of 'FamilySearch'; and, the "Beta" (ie. "Test") Environment, of 'FamilySearch', open together, in tandem, each in a separate/different "Browser" - that works just fine.

Plus, I have been doing such regularly, for some time, in with the "Browsers" of, 'Google' "Chrome"; and, 'Mozilla' "FireFox"; and, 'Microsoft' "Edge", ALL with the "Operating System" of "Windows 10; and, ALL using the LATEST versions of each.

My preference, is 'Google' "Chrome", followed by 'Mozilla' "FireFox"; and, in a pinch, 'Microsoft' "Edge".

Hey, but, that is just me ...

I have no real experience, in "Apple"/"iSO" products, with regard to, Computers; Devices; or, Programmes/Applications.

Although, I have used such, on a very limited scale; especially, when helping/assisting Others.

    Just my thoughts.

I hope, that this may help/assist, somewhat.

    Brett
