Shared Groups
Hi
I love sharing temple names with a group.
I need the chat feature disabled from that. I have phone numbers for all those people so I can chat with them separate.
It's because I have children that do temple work. I would love for them to share their temple names with adults. I do not want the adults to be able to communicate with them. This is a safety breech for me.
Actually if we could disable communication with the children or send it through the adults that would be great.
thanks for putting together the sharing temple names groups.

Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
[ And, I happen to be a Member of the Church ... ]
Just in passing ...
I totally understand "Privacy"; and, especially, "Privacy", when it come to one's Children [ As I have my own ] ...
Plus, both; because, of my, former (Full-Time) Career; and, "Callings" in the Church ...
Firstly ...
The problem/issue is: WHERE, does one 'draw the line' ...
"Technically", Children, OVER the Age of 12 Years, DO NOT require, the "Permission", of their Parents, to "Create" (and, maintain) a 'FamilySearch' Account.
Please refer, to the following "Knowledge Article", in 'FamilySearch':
How do I create a free account for a child?
How do I create a free account for a child?
https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-create-a-free-account-for-a-child
Secondly ...
"Family Groups", are somewhat "Private"; as, they are a "Closed", finite "Network" ...
Surely, the members of a particular "Family Group", are ALL "Known" to each other ...
[ Or, in the least, to a good proportion, of the members of the group ... ]
[ And, that includes, the likes of Ward/Branch/Stake/District/etc groups ... ]
IF, there was ANY concerns [ eg. "Child Protection" ], with ANY members, of a particular "Family Group"; THEN, surely, would not that be either, KNOWN to; or, passed onto, the "Administrators", of that "Family Group".
Plus ...
IF, one has ANY concerns, with regard to their Children, being members, of ANY (particular) "Family Group"; THEN, one SHOULD either,
(1) NOT allow their Younger ( 8 to 12 Years ) Children, be members of such a "Family Group(s)"; and/or,
(2) For their Older ( 13 Years and Older ) Children, advise the "Administrators", of the particular "Family Group(s)", that one DOES NOT want, their Children, to be "Approved"; as, members of those groups; or, if they are already members of those groups; then, they NEED to be "Removed", from those groups.
As an aside ...
Our youngest, is still a "Teenager"; and, they are very responsible (and, knowledgeable).
We would NOT like, to have their control, to do the Work, in 'FamilySearch', taken away from them.
[ ie. By the "Blanket" application, of any "Restriction", that encompasses ALL "Children" - ie. 8 to 18 ... ]
Finally ...
So ...
That Said ...
I am sorry ...
WITHOUT, the proper, "Checks" and, "Balances", in place ...
[ eg. Maybe for Children between the ages of 8 and 12 Year; but, not, 13 Years and older ... ]
[ As, ONE Size, Fits ALL ... is NOT appropriate ... in regards to this matter ... it is quite COMPLEX ... ]
[ Plus, as, I have alluded, one DOES have some options ... ]
I, DO NOT; and, CANNOT, support this requested enhancement, of yours ...
I know, that this certainly may not help/assist; but, I hope, that this may provide you with, some additional, insight; and, perspective; and, another avenue to pursue - with regards to Children; and, "Family Groups".
Brett
ps: Always REMEMBER, a Child CAN be "Contacted", in 'FamilySearch', REGARDLESS of "Family Groups".
.... That is ANOTHER ( "Privacy" ) matter, altogether ...
