How do I delete a record showing my father is deceased when he is quite alive.

There are two records for my father, one showing he is deceased and another showing he is still alive. It will not let me merge the two so is there a way to delete the record showing he is deceased when he is most definitely alive? And the record showing he is deceased has no sources listed. Can someone put that information in without showing a source?
