children listed as +1 (or 2 or 3) on Australia, Fremantle—Inward Passenger Lists, 1890–1911

I can't find in the project instructions what to do with extra children listed on the manifest. If the line is Mrs Henderson +2 children, and in the line it her as adult female, and has 1 boy and 1 girl or 2 boys or 2 girls in the children line, do I include them in the indexing as <blank first name> Henderson, or do I pretend like they're not on the manifest and just index the mom or dad? Or something else? I've been going with the first option, but I'm not sure if it's correct.

I have been going by the General indexing guideline which states:

    • Do not assume the surname of an individual based on the surname of someone else, such as a parent or a spouse, unless directed otherwise in the project instructions.

I read through the project instructions, as you did, and did not see the t we were directed otherwise.

    Hope this helps.

See the first bullet in this section of the General Indexing Guidelines. https://prod.familysearch.psdops.com/cmsa/idx/how-to-index-individuals-whose-names-were-not-fully-recorded
