Slow internet here might be affecting something. I have not returned it yet. I will go back after this message. Try again after.

Hi James.
Please send/message me a screenshot of the whole document, or a good-sized area surrounding the troublesome name and I’ll try to sharpen it for you. It might help. Please maximize the image before clipping it. Thanks.

According to our instructions These are private records. Maybe I even shouldn't share them this way.

Oh. So is the project restricted?

I would delete any images you shared after trying to enhance them and posting them back to you. But go ahead and check whether it is legit to share them for this specific purpose. I can't read Polish, and I would only look at them myself as an image.

It will be a guessing game then. I am going slow. Finding and correcting most of the names I find using Google. Some people tell me not to do that but should I just IGNORE that info? It shows some Find a Grave postings. Showing Children of - Married to. Confirming some and correcting others.

Hi James
I'll be persistent for a bit and then I'll drop it.
Is it worse to get help from a fellow Indexer - who would NOT share it further - no public posting of the results - to try and help you work better from the provided batch image and avoid having to consult outside sources like that? I believe that the restrictions are in place for reasons other than for preventing the experiment I am proposing. Sharing an image won't allow me to index any batches from that project, for example.
It would only be a test with no guarantee of success. But why not try? You could ask someone in charge of the records for the OK to do that. Or maybe one of the Moderators here can comment on this limited, virtuous use of a restricted image that I can't understand anyway.
All of the techniques I would use are publicly available, in some form, for FREE - I have the PRO version of Smart DeBlur ($100), but there is a free version available. I would also use the FREE program called A Viewer For Windows (AV4W) and another great FREE one called BlurFix They don't always help beyond what your trained eye can see, but sometimes they do, enabling you to squeeze more out of the image without resorting to outside sources. So if we succeed in making a practical difference, you could use these techniques yourself, if you choose, perhaps making your Indexing work easier, possibly more accurate, more productive, and more fruitful.
Thanks for listening. Do only what you're comfortable with. I'm not trying to bully you into doing this; I'm just trying to help the whole Indexing Process become more robust, efficient and effective.

Too complex for me.
So keep on allowing Sharing of batches? I am more than willing. I hate getting things wrong. I love it when I find a match somewhere in Google. I will be cautious about using it and trusting it too much though.

@Harmon, James Bartlett and @John Empoliti --- Hi, yes these are restricted records as they may contain sensitive information -- questions can be posted in a separate forum for members of the Wisconsin SSN Indexing Group. Please do not use Google as an indexing tool - its okay to confirm spelling but we should type exactly what we see - whether spelled correctly or not. Please do not share Wisconsin Batches in this forum.

I didn’t realize these were Wisconsin records. I figured they were from a Poland project.. Yes. I guess they are what they are, and do the best you can, James, within the constraints of the project.
