Society involvement in the 1950 census review
Is anyone else disappointed in the lack of interest in helping societies participate in the 1950 census review as societies? It seems like the emphasis is on helping individuals find their families and not on helping societies rally their members as a group to tackle a block of the census review. Things like enabling a society to have a landing page or login so they can track how many documents the society has reviewed or making it easy for a society to review a neighborhood, city, or county as a block seem to be missing. I attended the RootsTech sessions and nothing was mentioned about using the census review to bring societies together or much if any new information on the society 1950 census landing page. I think Family Search is missing out on a valuable tool to help get this done, the help of thousands of dedicated society members who would rally together as a society, and we are running out of time.

That would be a wonderful idea! Also if the landing page could show the progress and numbers completed of all the societies involved it would push everyone to do better and to stay active.
Sadly I think most users of family search might not be apart of any groups. Im apart of 2 I believe, my ward and stake group. ( if thats apart of what you are talking about?) However there are very few if any people indexing or reviewing, as the heavy bulk of all the names done are by me. I agree that by going in as groups things might be done faster, and more efficiently but I think it would be hard to find a large group out there where most members are active daily. Its a shame that this might become a missed opportunity.
