I’ve been informed that I must contact family search support about my 3x great grandfather.

My relative is Abia Wilcox. MWNW- 6NT. There were many duplicates that I merged including his work being done as a female. Then I was told to contact support services. He is my direct line ancestor.

    @jkburchell3991200

    FYI

    Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

[ And, I happen to be a Member of the Church ... ]

    Just in passing ...

Question: Is this query of yours to do with "Temple" Work?

    As, I just has a quick 'look' at Abia WILCOX ( MWNW-6NT ) ...

And, on his "Ordinances" 'Tab'; where, is states that ...

This person's ordinance status is not available.

Please contact FamilySearch Support if you are a relative and need more information.

    Please advise/confirm.

    Now ...

    That Said ...

    Just for future reference ...

IF, such is the case; THEN, the BEST place, to submit, such queries regarding "Temple" Work, is :

    FamilySearch Help

    'Category' = Temple

HOME > FAMILYSEARCH HELP > TEMPLE

    Temple

    https://community.familysearch.org/en/categories/temple

    https://community.familysearch.org/en/categories/temple

    Hopefully ...

A "Moderator" [ ie. 'FamilySearch' "Support" ], in this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, will EVENTAULLY find your post, here under the 'Category' of "General Questions"; and, subsequently, "Move" your post post into the 'Category' of "Temple"; plus, take your post into the workings of 'FamilySearch' "Support" to help/assist you.

    [ Sooner, rather than later ... ]

I know, that this certainly does not help/assist; but, I hope, that this may help/assist, for future matters, of this nature.

    @jkburchell3991200

    FYI

    Furthermore ...

    just in passing ...

    I just a a look through all those "Merges"/"Combines" ...

    https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/changelog/MWNW-6NT/merges

It is the LAST "Merge"/"Combine", on "30 December 2019", with "Abia WILCOX' ( 9D3Q-5JM ), that has caused the problem/issue.

IF, you have a 'look' at the "ChangeLog", for "Abia WILCOX' ( 9D3Q-5JM ), you will notice that this individual's/person's "Gender", was "Changed", from the ORIGINAL "Gender" of "Female", to the "Gender" of "Male".

    https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/changelog/9D3Q-5JM/sex

That would have caused the "Ordinances" to be "Unavailable".

And, WHY 'FamilySearch' "Support" need to be involved; and, investigate ...

    Now ...

    That Said ...

    Unfortunately ...

Another User/Patron, participating in this Forum, has JUST mad "Changes", that 'Muddy the Water', even more.

    ie.

    ▬ "Restoring" the Abia WILCOX ( 9D3Q-5JM ); and,

    ▬ "Merging"/"Combining" the Abia WILCOX ( MWNW-6NT ), with Abia WILCOX ( 9D3Q-5JM ); so that, Abia WILCOX ( 9D3Q-5JM ), is the "Surviving" individual/person ...

    So ...

    That Said ...

    This is "Very" UNFORTUNATE ...

As, the ORIGINAL "Temple" Work was MOST likely ALREADY done for Abia WILCOX ...

ie. NOT needing to be done again.

The BEST course of action would have been to have left the matter to 'FamilySearch' "Support" RESOLVE.

    Again ...

To clear up the mess ...

    Good Luck.

    Just my thoughts.

The problem can be traced to a change in code programming in 2020.

At the time, when you change from female or male, the ordinances would carry over.

Now, when the sex is changed, the ordinances are removed.

You will need to go back and undo all the merges (I see since 2016), further undoing merges until none left, then merge the correct ones, and when you do find the one showing female, change that one.

This one https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/9D3Q-5JM was the guilty one - sex changed. Now showing male per history
