Need help translating Swedish record

I can translate most of this but am stuck on the first word of each line?

? to Amerika

Are they saying this person left for Amerika and then died on the way?

    Efter = After. In this sentence it means after or according to information, died in 1866

    Rest = traveled. In this sentence it means left or traveled to America.

    So this person left to live in America and died over there.
