Joseph Lambert (b. March 1830, France; d. Oct 1890, Ontario County, NY)
RE: Joseph Lambert; born March 1830 in France; settled around 1855 in Oneida County, New York. Year of migration is not yet known, but it is believed he NEVER lived in New York City. It is believed he was born in either Brimont, Marne, Champagne-Ardenne, France or Blamont, Doubs, Franche-Comté, France.
He died 9 Oct 1890 in Phelps, Ontario County, New York, but lived most of his life in Oneida County, New York.
I have found Joseph's Declaration of Intent dated 20-OCT-1856 in Declarations, package 18-24 sect. 1 1854-1866; ("New York, County Naturalization Records, 1791-1980," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-L9MZ-RNMV?cc=1999177&wc=MDSJ-Y66%3A326203201%2C326528501 : 21 May 2014), Oneida > Petition evidence 1856 pkg 20, no 1-82 > image 97 of 228; Citing multiple County Clerk offices of New York).
There is a Joseph Lambert found in US Naturalization Records Indexes, 1794-1995 for New York > Southern District of New York that shows only his name plus a number 173267, although "Southern District" most likely refers to NYC, rather than around Oneida County, NY.
Where can I find additional information for Joseph, especially to pinpoint his place of birth? Thanks!! ~Carol H
