Proposal Box
Today, my grandpa was declared dead by someone who is my 10th cousin several times removed. This was frustrating for my dad and I. We both have encountered numerous changes in our family lines without regard to the records that have been recorded. Personally, I've messaged quite a few asking for their reasons, ideas, sources as to why changes were made. I've had to unravel a lot of incorrect data, upload correct data, and research families ( that are not my own) with correct sources just to get them to stop making unnecessary changes. The proposal box would be used BEFORE changes to family lines are made permanent. It will also enable a joint effort to facilitate discussions as to why changes need to be made. Communication is key to understanding why certain sources are used, where they come from, and understanding of those sources. This is a world wide family tree. I love to discuss my research with others. I love to understand what they've found, when I have a response. The proposal box can and will help all of us gather Israel as we work better together to discuss proposed changes to an individual or a family.

FYI
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
[ And, I happen to be a Member of the Church ... ]
Just in passing ...
Although, I understand your suggested enhancement; and, why you proposed such ...
I am sorry ...
I CANNOT support such an enhancement ...
Just SOME, of the RESAONS, that I CANNOT support such an enhancement, are:
(1) How long, does a Record, REMAIN, in the "Proposal Box"; BEFORE, the "Change" is made PERMANENT?
.... ie. How LONG do we HAVE to WAIT ...
(2) WHO "Decides", if a "Change" to a Record, WILL be made PERMANENT?
.... Is it ONE User/Patron; or, a COMMITTEE of Users/Patrons.
.... Either way, WHO gets to make the "Decision"; as, to who the ONE User/Patron; or COMMITTEE, should be.
(3) IF, there is MORE than ONE, proposed "Change" for a Record; THEN, do they MOUNT UP ie. ALL be 'Listed'?
.... ie. in sequential order; as, they are "Proposed".
(4) IF, there is a "Dispute"; THEN, who is the "Arbitrator"?
.... I am telling you NOW, 'FamilySearch', DOES NOT have the Personnel, to "Arbitrate", of EVERY "Change" ...
.... And, no one should kid themselves ... MANY; Many; many, "Changes", WILL be in Dispute, in such a Model
.... [ Currently, one makes "Change"; and, if someone disagrees with that "Change", they simply correct it ... ]
As such ...
I prefer the the basic 'nature' and 'premise', of the "Family Tree" Part, of 'FamilySearch''; being, built on a "Open Edit" Platform - hence, why any "Registered" User/Patron CAN "Edit" (ie. Add, Delete; and/or, Change) ANY "Deceased" individual/person, in the "Family Tree" Part, of 'FamilySearch'.
Unfortunately ...
OTHERWISE ...
The "System", is just TOO "Restrictive" ...
Just my thoughts.
