I have my final results set up for English only but out of the 19 projects available to me, 9 of them are foreign. Can anyone explain why I am not getting English only projects

Are you getting something that looks like this? If so, the foreign records are written in English.

There are several projects that have English as well as other languages mixed in. For example some projects I have done for parts of Africa have batches in English as well as Afrikaans. UK projects may have batches in  English, German, French, or Latin. When you get a batch that isn't in a language you understand or feel comfortable indexing, just return it. Hopefully you won't get too many batches that you have to return. I know it can be frustrating.

You should also check a Difficulty Level. The Advanced level is more likely to have foreign languages in it.

If you are just beginning indexing, there won't always be Beginning level projects available. Select Get Involved in the Family Search menu and look for other opportunities, and review indexing videos until a project becomes available you are comfortable with.
