The instructions and examples do not indicate whether or not to index - Western area ETC. as the Reg. Place. For a long time I have not been putting that in because of that. For example Batch [M362-4C6]

@Harmon, James Bartlett Thank you for your question regarding the registration place on the Sierra Leone Birth and Death records. The field helps for registration place state:

"Index only the town or village, chiefdom, and district, in that order."

So, in this case, the registration place should be indexed "Second Eastern".

Thank you for helping to index these special historical records. Enjoy your day.

@Harmon, James Bartlett when I looked at the field help for Registration Place I found: Index only the town or village, chiefdom, and district, in that order. So I would say you were correct in indexing the district if none of the other places were written. Are you reviewing this record?

    Happy Reviewing and indexing.

Yes on reviewing. I do some Indexing only when I am tired of reviewing. This case S L is 99% complete. I will Index when I can. For some time I was Indexing Freetown, Western area before I rechecked the Examples.

I do the same but in the reverse. I review when I get tired of indexing. I was indexing the military rosters, but I decided to review them instead.

Glad to have you giving your time.
