Why 'Get Involved'?
Who chose the label 'Get Involved'? It's really Indexing and it should be labelled as such. Under this tab, you've got indexing and name checking which are both part of indexing. Kindly put the Indexing tab back with regular indexing and the new checking of computer-indexed things as subsets. Trying to do my bit and it's really annoying to find things changed without any notice whatsoever.

I think, possible/hopefully, the intention is to include other participative activities in the future. Yes, it was annoying to begin with but you get used to finding it in Get Involved.

Yes, absolutely, there will be more opportunities added in the future.

Looking at this new activity, my point of view is that it really isn't indexing. There are just too many differences in how things are done. It also seem to be directed to people who have no interest in indexing. Putting it as a subset of indexing would never bring it to the intention of its intended audience.
What I'm surprised about is that they did not move the Review Place Names activity to under the Get Involved menu. It would fit there nicely.

As has been previously shared, Get Involved includes many different volunteer activities. Indexing is one of the activity options and so is the new Names Review activity. There are different activities to support variety and more people worldwide, including youth, getting involved in FamilySearch volunteer opportunities.
You can view what additional Get Involved volunteer activities on the Overview page: https://www.familysearch.org/getinvolved/. Indexing and Improve Place-Names is listed on this page. Click More Volunteer Opportunities to view more activities. And, as has been posted, more volunteer opportunities will be added in the future.
