Why was this changed without any warning?

What is the purpose of making changes without any warning or advance notice of any sort? Just dumping something of this sort on those who are trying to index is completely counterproductive. Kindly think of asking those who are using this part of FamilySearch before you "fix" something.

This was tested out in the Spanish community so it was not untested. It does seem sudden to us but they are quite careful when testing out these projects.

This is not a change. This is not indexing. This is a completely new endeavor and like most new products it sounds like it was probably thoroughly tested out with a select group. A venue like RootsTech is the typical place to announce and release a dramatic new offering.

From what I've seen and read so far, it sounds like most indexers will want to stick with indexing. This appears to be an effort to get a completely new group of the people (like the Wordle crowd) involved in making records searchable.
