Conflict: order of names

Have you noticed the switch when you get Romanianized?
I cannot say if in the past setting the language of a name to Romanian put the surname first, but I think not. (I am not sure because I spend a lot of time with Hungarian names, so switching isn't unusual.) I can confirm the Romanian setting has that effect now. And yeah, it is incorrect. Romanian names are in written in what Wikipedia terms Western name order.

Back to the original suggestion/topic, if I may, I find this a sensible recommendation, with a bit more nuanced approach similar to what Roland suggested in a later comment - that visitors could choose from multiple options.
The idea here is, that FS is aware of the metadata, and should be able to use that to display names flexibly, however the viewer is comfortable with, and as a result we would avoid "renaming conflicts" based on who thinks how a name should look like.
The way I may choose to look at a name is not disrespecting anyone, as long as it's recorded, how a name is supposed to look like.
I think display options (a personal preference for a user) should be:
- display according to set language template if available, and default to Givenname Surname if not set (set to Other) ( this would be the default option, also used for not logged-in visitors)
- display according to (chosen in a drop-down) language template.
