My family has always spoken of having some Native American ancestry. I have done multiple searches through sessions here and have been unable to find anything that deals with it. Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

This page on the FamilySearch Wiki is a good place to start: https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/Starting_Native_American_Research There are several other pages about Native American research.

I don't mean any disrespect to your family or to discourage you, but it's worth noting that many family stories about Native American ancestry are exaggerated or mythical. In particular, claims about having a Cherokee 'Princess' in the family are usually not true.
