Are we reviewing person names only or places as well?

On the phone app, there is an option to mark that the highlighting in wrong. I don't see that option on the web version. How should we mark that on the web version?

BTW- this is great to see the tool!

I thought starkeypd was asking if we are supposed to correct the place names on the new Review Names app. They often come up as names and I think should be dealt with using the transcription error flag and selecting "Not a Name" since we are reviewing human names.

There are instructions over at the Get Involved group. You should probably ask all questions about that Review Name app over there. There are many new instructions and videos on that first post on the group (top box, left hand corner). I've done the task on web-indexing and there is definitely a option to edit the highlighting as well as a flag for transcription errors. That is interesting because a box pops up and you describe the transcription error.

Get Involved does list Review Names and Improve Place-Names as well: https://www.familysearch.org/getinvolved/

I'm not seeing a group though (maybe only some have access to that).

There is the option to report errors in the web version:

lower right-hand corner. But I did not have a box popup to describe the transcription error - just the option to edit the entry.

@genthusiast The Improve Place Names is a different app. It is the same thing we have been doing for at least a year. The new app which is Review Names. The Group is in the Community. Click on FamilySearch Help and it will be the first box to click on in the left corner.

When you click on the Transcription Error flag, a box should be popping up where you can check off what is wrong and add a note in a box at the bottom of the check list.

Yep - the question was asked about whether placenames were also being reviewed ... They are still opportunities/activities ... further down the page:

    https://www.familysearch.org/getinvolved/

Interesting that I haven't seen those totaling under 'review placenames' ... I guess standardizing places isn't considered a review activity... So yes technically not reviewing a record ...

I now see the Get Involved Community help category - weird I didn't see it earlier ...

Yes, that was my question. I’m sorry it wasn’t clear. I am marking them as ‘not a name’
