When a film page is finally indexed, does it replace prior manually created sources?
I hope I can make sense in explaining my question. I help a lady who has attached sources directly from Family Search's online films a few years back. At that time, there were no indexed records for the particular area she was working on.
Recently, we noticed that some of those records have now been indexed! What happens to the original source she attached years ago? Is Family Search able to track that the specific page has been attached to someone, and then replaces the original source with the indexed version? Or does the system not recognize it as the same record, and it instead shows up as a hint to be added?
We are asking this to find out if we should go back through the line and attach all indexed records. If so, we want to also know if it necessary to detach the original unindexed record, or if it is fine to leave it be.
Thank you so much!
