TIP: THINK "OUTSIDE THE BOX" as it relates to to FS Memories Albums
Family Search Albums - can be so much more than just a collection of items uploaded for a person/branch of your family
I recently came across this amazing FS Memories album - dedicated to those who have lost their lives in their service of being LDS missionaries.

Obviously this was a labor of love for a person dedicated to this specific subject and probably took YEARS to gather and it was not just focused on their own family - but rather a subject of special meaning to them.
As a reminder to all of you . . . we are not limited to uploading items that are necessarily restricted to just our own family. It can be related to just about anyone and just about any topic of genealogical value - though we clearly need to use tact, respect and awareness of how others might react or perceive our work.
There are various similar projects out there where people are looking beyond their own family research - and finding ways to "give back" to the genealogical community.
The Family Bible Project

French ID Cards

and even projects to help preserve the research of now deceased fellow researchers

Projects like these help make FS Memories a better and more comprehensive and meaningful database of items. All of these projects, however, are projects led by private individuals and not formally endorsed per se by FamilySearch itself - but are wonderful examples of how FamilySearch creates the "platform" and people do some wonderful things on their own in applying that platforms capabilities.
Many of these projects have the sole purpose of making FamilySearch a BETTER place for all of us.
if being part of a project like one of these is of interest to anyone - more information can be obtained.
But the main reason of this post is simply to inspire FS users to think "out of the box" as to how they can make FamilySearch a better place in their own unique way

a few similar projects that ARE indeed administered by FamilySearch/LDS
are the LDS Missionary Database and the Pioneer Database
https://history.churchofjesuschrist.org/chd/landing?lang=eng
If you have Utah Pioneer ancestors or early LDS missionary ancestors take a look for them in these databases
and if you don't find them - let the admins know - as there are ways you can have information about your ancestors added to these databases.
