I was assigned Missouri Marriage Records to index and it has 12 records . I indexed 8 out of 12 on page 262 and 263 which is the page it opened on but when I go to do page 264 to finish a total of 12 records, it shows "For reference - Do Not Index" So I am confused why I'm being asked to complete 12 records.

Thank you!

    Hi @tillysum

Welcome to indexing. Please share your Share Batch Code for the best answer. It is the combination of letters and numbers that looks like MXXX-XXX and is at the end of the batch name enclosed in brackets [ ]. A person wanting to help can use it to open and examine your batch. But I'll try to help you without it.

Bottom line: if you don't need all 12 blank entries provided as a default by the system, delete the extras. If you only need 10 out of 12, delete the extra 2. You can use the trashcan icon in the middle of the horizontal toolbar with the option Delete "all blank entries" to do this if you have indexed all the information from your batch image. Likewise, if you had needed more than the 12 provided by default you would add those by using the + icon just to the left of the trashcan.

In the second section of the Project Instructions, called "What to Remember About This Project," you should find, among other helpful information, the bulleted citation shown below. The "Additional Information" section referred to is the last one in your Project Instructions and tells you how to add or delete entries.

    • The default number of entries per image for this project is 12. However, some images will have more or fewer entries than this. For help with adding or removing entries, see "Number of Entries per Image" in the "Additional Information" section below.

Please share your batch id, you can find it under help> share batch.

When we open up batches, there are a set of entries that are already available. You can add more if there are more than 12 names , or you can delete the entries if there are any left over blank entries after you've indexed all of the names on your batch. You can do this by using the trashcan icon and deleting "all blank entries".

The reference pages you are talking about, are parts of different batches, but are helpful to look at to confirm certain info like dates or other info. Your project instructions will let you know if you need the reference images to find info for your batch. You do not index the reference images, just the image in your batch.

Thanks so much for your help! When I opened it, it was on page 262 and 263. I completed the eight on those two pages.
