How do I add a new downloaded tree to my exsisting one?

Hi,

I wonder if someone can help me please! I've had an account with FS for years and I decided to put my whole tree (11,000 +) onto my very small tree on FS. I downloaded the tree by a gedcom file and I can see that it's on FS but its not on my account. I just have the small tree still there.

What do I have to do to merge the two trees and put it on my account?

Thanks for any help

Paula

Uploading your GEDCOM does not "connect" it to your current information until you have compared and reviewed all of the names that are in your GEDCOM. This is one reason we suggest that if you want to add to your pedigree by uploading a GEDCOM, you create several smaller GEDCOMs to make your review manageable. The following knowledge article contains extensive information about how to compare your GEDCOM information with what is already in Family Tree since some of your ancestors may have already been added to Family Tree by other family members. We want to avoid duplication in Family Tree as merging records makes more work for everyone that is connected to a common ancestor.

Please review each of the steps described in this article, and then work with the filters that will allow you to copy new information into Family Tree. As explained in the article, to "connect" your new information, simply be sure you create appropriate parent/child relationships that link your living ancestors to your deceased ancestors. The filter of individuals who are already part of Family Tree will play an important role in your efforts to link everyone together.

I am also sending you a personal message that I hope will be helpful.
