Incorrect person on family tree
I added a man today, everything seemed to connect. But just as I clicked, I noticed a citation regarding his death in New Zealand. My ancestor didn't go to NZ, but the rest of the info does match. Basically, there were two families in Staffordshire, both had the same name, both had brothers the same name, both married a Sarah Parkes. It really is uncanny. But I had the same issue when I was tracing via Ancestry. The Danks family in Australia are still there. The gent in question didn't come home, one family were engineers and 'my' family were miners. But as I didn't add all the details, I can't disconnect him from my tree and all his ancestors. The biggest clues are his children were born in the UK during the years his alter ego was in Australia. Now I get it, I was impatient and clicked to add. But now I cant add my 'real' family.
Can anyone suggest a way to edit???
Many thanks
Colette

Did you go to latest changes? You might be able to delete the entry from latest changes. You can also disconnect him from who you attached him to (for instance, a parent, a wife, etc.)

Where can I find Latest Changes to get rid of where someone has added an incorrect person to my family tree?

@PaulTutherow Sr Latest Changes is the 4th side-card down on the person page Details tab. Click the SHOW ALL link to go to the complete list of Changes.
If the Change was recent the All Changes filter should list it near the top of the list - otherwise you may want to filter by Couple Relationship or Parent-Child Relationship.
Once you find the changes related to the incorrect person - you may need to click the Reference link to be able to edit /Restore - otherwise you need to continue scrolling through the list to find the appropriate RESTORE option.

Regarding: "Where can I find Latest Changes to get rid of where someone has added an incorrect person to my family tree?"
You may or may not need the Change Log for this. It depends on how the incorrect person was added.
1) If the person was simply added as a child to parents when he should not have been, just use the Edit Relationship pencil icon that is next to him in the Family Members section:
There you will see the option to remove the child from those parents:
2) However, if the child was added through a merge of the parents, it is important to unmerge the parents so that you keep the child which his original parents. To do this, go to each parent and in the change log as shown in the above post then filter for merges and see if one brought in the child by clicking on the little arrow to the right on each line.
If you find a merge that incorrectly brought the child into the family, then go to the deleted person in the merge and restore that person. Do that for both parents. Then removed the child who will then have two sets of parents from the incorrect family.
