How to index same names of two different people on a military roster.

Often I come across a situation where two people have the same name on a roster. They have different military numbers, but they would appear the same in the index. Should these names be listed twice, or should the name be listed only once. This also occurs when there is a Junior/Senior situation.

Also, It often occurs that the same person is listed on the roster in the regular section and then again in the gains/losses for the month section. Should this person be listed only once, or should he be listed in both places?

Thanks for your reply.

You should only have to index the unique name. The researcher will be guided to the image and be able to see there is a Junior/Senior, or two soldiers with different military ID's, or that they are recorded in the gain/losses section. If the names were on consecutive entry forms and exact duplicate entries, the system would delete one of them on submission.
