I need to delete a person from my tree. I have since found documents that show that the person who I thought was the correct person is a person with the same last name. Apparently the surname Bailey was well represented in middle 1700's MA.

So far everything that I have read on this site is clear as mud.

You don't delete the individual what you do is remove the incorrect relationship - so if it is a spouse and mother you would remove the spousal relationship and remove all children from the mother - this would leave this record unconnected to anyone else. also remove any incorrect sources. If the only relationship is as a child just remove from the incorrect parents. If you provide the ID number of the individual you want to disconnect others can easily give more detailed directions.
