How Does One Separate 2 people with similar time lines
There are 2 people - one my gg grandfather who both lived in ohio. One in Belmont County one in monroe and Noble county. They are 2 distinct people. In FamilySearch their time lines and families are entwined incorrectly. How can they be separated. I have extensive information on one but there is no tree for him.

This kind of project takes a bit of intensive research, careful planning, knowing how to evaluate the change log, and a fair amount of patience. It is also left completely up to those Family Tree users who have an interest in the people and in separating them correctly. Employees of FamilySearch do not do this for us. Since one is your gg grandfather, it sounds like the job is up to you. It can be a lot of fun and a lot of personal satisfaction to see the final results.
I find it usually works best to be prepared to research both families.
First start with the Change Log. Learn how to read it. If you are lucky, the entire problem will have stemmed from a couple of bad merges that you can just restore people from then correct records. This usually is much better to do than just creating new people.
Then I generally start a couple of generations forward. In this case I would start with your grandfather and all his siblings and make sure their records are as complete and as thoroughly sourced as possible. Then I would do the same with your great-grandfather and all of his siblings, separating out anyone attached that actually belongs in the other family and shifting relationships as needed. Then proceed to untangle both families in generation of your gggrandfather.
Good luck with your project!
If you need specific suggestions, you will need to post the ID numbers of these people.
