Have moderators been instructed not to address any issues related to the revised Search interface?
I ask this as comments from moderators appear to be conspicuous by their absence when these issues continue to be raised.
There have been a huge amount of reports of users still struggling when making their searches, as well as many useful suggestions as to how certain changes could life so much easier for us. Sadly, FamilySearch moderators (and/or employees) are not giving any reassurance that the developers are working towards resolving clearly identified, problem issues.
No timescales expected, but please can we be assured that all the concerns raised here are being passed to the developers. Otherwise, can someone please be straight with us and confirm we have been presented with the finished product, there are no significant changes in the pipeline, so we will just have to find a way to adapt to it?

I will pass your comments on - we do take them extremely seriously. There are more changes to come.

My comment has been deleted by someone named Piper.
Clearly the answer is yes.
Yet in the "explanation" as to why my comment was deleted there is no helpful advice, answer or direction in regards to searching for transcripts, which was so user friendly to LDS members in the past.
Just me being scolded for being unkind.
Sigh.
And my husbands family are LDS pioneers, including a 70 and countless missionaries. GG Grandfather C. C. A. Christensen has his work hanging in BYU, "did more than any other person to capture the images of the history of Mormon migration to Utah and the life lived there"
We actually have his original bible.
Sorry Grandpa.
Why such scrubbing?

I'm just a normal person, for any given value of normal.
Over the last few months, we have seen some very small changes slipping in to the new search. This would seem to suggest that some very tentative first steps are being taken to try and work out how to work toward improvement without actually breaking anything. I don't have any inside information, and I don't know anybody who has, so I'm basing my opinion on observation then speculation.
If I'd been the one who'd had the job dropped on me, without sufficient documentation, then I'd be working very slowly, recording everything and trying to work out what was in the head of the [word not found] who constructed it so I could unravel it into sensible functions and then do it properly. I've already looked at the content and there are some issues with classes and inheritance that already cause problems, so I can see that fixing it is not going to be easy while still keeping the system up and running.
If I live long enough, it might get fixed in time for me to use it, but for the time being I'm using other systems to do the bulk of the searching, and then I just drop in to Familysearch to add the odd connection.
To the guys and gals at the coal face: Keep on plugging away at it! There's an appreciative audience out there waiting to laud the praise upon you as and when it gets sorted out. There might even be biccies !

In answer to Janet: items are only deleted if they are offensive, it is possible the item was moved to another section. Here are some rules to keep to as a guide:
Welcome to the FamilySearch community. Please adhere to these standards when you communicate with others in any of our online forums:
- Be kind.
- Be honest.
- Be constructive.
- Be relevant.
We do not permit these inappropriate behaviours:
- Commercial use of the content.
- Selling or promotion of products or services.
- Spam.
- Profanity and other inappropriate content.
- Trolling, insulting, name calling, and other personal attacks.
- Using formatting techniques to shout, such as ALL CAPS, repeated characters, or excessive boldface.
- Conjecture, gossip, or debate about the priorities, motives, processes, policies, or competence of FamilySearch or its personnel.
- Thread bumping and repetitive comments.
- Debate or discussion of topics that are not relevant to family history (like politics or religion).
- Plagiarism and other violations of the law.
Hope this is helpful.
