setting up a non member family search account
I am a new ward family history consultant and while helping a non- member today set up an account we had a problem. We entered information on all the screens and we received the phone code text and were about to hit create an account when her computer froze and would not let us enter the code. We rebooted her computer and started entering all the information again but when entering her password we were told there was already an account set up with that password. We then went back and used her user name and password thinking an account must exist and were trying to access it, were told there was already an account set up with her information yet we could not access it??? Don't know where to go from here to help her???? Any advice please would be very welcomed. Thank you, Marsha

I was trying to set up a FS account for my nonmember cousin and I ended having to call the Family History number to have them correct the problem. You might have to contact them to have them fix the problem. If you don't have that contact, please message me and I will give you that number.

As an addition to the answer above, here is the number you can use to contact FamilySearch: 1-866-406-1830
As Shannon Potter Wilcox so kindly stated, it is most often necessary to contact FamilySearch by phone to get help with this kind of account sign in issue.
