I want to understand the most expedient way to search for land records pre 1861 in Huron Ontario Canada, Wawanosh township for surnames Ray (George and/ or William) and Donovan, Dunnivan. I am search for their records of land ownership so that I can then site their land on the map

Early RecordsVital Records After 1869 Land Records and Wills Censuses

    • Information on how to access land records and wills is best sought on the Archives of Ontario website. An ancestor's land holding might be found on Canadian County Atlas Digital Projec tif he was in occupancy circa 1878. Association for the Preservation of Ontario Land Registry Office Documents (APOLROD). A list of Land Registry Offices for all Counties of Ontario.

I googled this. I know the date is after 1861 but I am sure they will point you where to go with your enquiry.

WIKI on family search has info on gravestones and population only for Wawanosh.
