Who to Contact and how.
I am the Ward Temple and Family History leader and I just looked at an email sent to me from a ward member. This is what he wrote: 'Sorry to bother you Josh, but I have just noticed my mother's information has changed on the family tree. I have had all the work done in the temple but has suddenly changed to the wrong info - who do I contact ??'
His name is Brian and I need to find an answer to his question. Can you help to find the answer? Thank you. Josh.

Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
[ And, I happen to be a Member of the Church ... ]
[ And, I have been a Staff Member, of Family History Centres", of the Church, for many Years ... ]
Just in passing ...
Please be, aware; and, advised ...
In the "Family Tree" Part, of 'FamilySearch' ...
That the "Details" of ANY "Deceased" individual/person can be "Changed" by ANY "Registered" User/Patron ...
And, that is regardless, of whether or not, the "Temple" Work, has been "Completed".
The 'Question', that has to be asked, is: HOW was the "Details" of individual/person was "Changed".
eg. Was such done through a "Merge"/"Combine" - which, I suspect that it may have been.
And, WHAT exactly, was "Changed", to ALTER, the 'Status', of the "Temple" Work, that was "Completed".
Possibly ...
IF, what has been "Changed", can be identified; THEN, such may be able to be CORRECTED, to reinstate the "Temple" Work, that was "Completed".
A lot depends on the circumstances of the "Change".
There is NO simple 'Answer'.
Have the "ChangeLog", of the individual/person concerned, examined, to 'see' what "Change(s)" occurred.
Then, it is a matter, of taking it from there.
The "ChangeLog" can be found, for a "Deceased" individual/person, on the "Person/Details" page/screen, on the 'right-hand-side' of the page/screen, under "Latest Changes"; and, Down the 'Bottom' of that, at "Show All".
That, is the FIRST place, to start.
This is very basic ...
A "Ward/Branch, Temple and Family History" Consultant", with any "Experience", should be able to help/assist with this.
Can I humbly suggest, that you enlist, the help/assistance, one one of your "Ward, Temple and Family History" Consultants", with some "Experience".
They should be able to help/assist, with the matter.
Good Luck.
Just my thoughts.
I know, that this certainly may not directly help/assist; but, I hope, that this may provide you with, some additional, insight; and, perspective; and, another avenue to pursue.

Furthermore ...
Just so that you are aware ...
Here an old 'standby' of mine, that I have previously proffered on occasion ...
------------------
Most new (and, some old) Users/Patrons, DO NOT, understand, the basic 'nature' and 'premise', of the "Family Tree" Part, of 'FamilySearch', when they join in.
Please let me explain ...
We do not have our OWN "Tree", in the "Family Tree" Part, of 'FamilySearch'.
We ONLY have "Branches" (ie. Ancestral" lines), that are interconnected, in this SINGLE "One" World "Tree", for all of us, that is the "Family Tree" Part, of 'FamilySearch'.
The "Family Tree" Part, of 'FamilySearch', is NOT like 'On-Line' "Websites" (eg. "Ancestry_com"; or "MyHeritage_com"; or, the like); and/or, 'standalone' personal (computer) programmes (eg, the OLD, now no longer supported, "PAF"; or, "Ancestral Quest"; or, the like).
We DO NOT have "Private"/"Personal" 'Trees', in the "Family Tree" Part, of 'FamilySearch', like other 'On-Line' "Websites"; and/or, 'standalone' personal (computer) programmes.
We do not even, own; or, manage; and, are NOT even responsible for, the "Deceased" individuals/persons, in "Family Tree" Part, of 'FamilySearch'.
And, most importantly ...
We DO NOT even, own; or, manage; and, are NOT even responsible for, Our OWN "Deceased" Ancestors/Family/Relatives, in the "Family Tree" Part, of 'FamilySearch'.
The "Family Tree" Part, of 'FamilySearch', is built on a "Open Edit" Platform - hence, why any "Registered" User/Patron can "Edit" (ie. Add, Delete; and/or, Change) ANY "Deceased" individual/person, in the "Family Tree" Part, of 'FamilySearch'.
------------------
I hope, that this may also help/assist, somewhat.

Brian's first point of contact is you, in your role as temple and family history leader. Most changes like this can be resolved by looking at what changes have been made, who made them (see change log), getting in contact with the person who made the changes, and editing out any incorrect changes to replace the correct information.
If that doesn't work due to complexity, you can reach out to Community for help. But it is essential that you include details of the entry on FamilySearch which was changed. If you can include the PID and some details of what is incorrect, it makes the whole process so much easier.
Good luck with your quest.

Here is a FamilySearch Help Center article that shows you step-by-step instructions about seeing what changes were made and suggestions on how to restore them.
