Correcting parental information.

My GGfather married twice with several children from the first marriage and none from the second. One of his daughters appears under the second marriage. I have added her to the first marriage but FamilySearch will not allow me to delete her link to the second marriage.

Any suggestions please.

Thanks

In the Family Members section of the daughter's profile, find her in the right-hand column: does she appear under both mothers, or only the wrong one?

If she appears under both, click the pencil-stub icon to the right of her name where she is listed under the wrong mother. Scroll down to the third box ("Child") and click "Remove or Replace". Click the checkbox, then click Remove Parents. Type in a reason, then click Remove.

If she only has the one set of parents, and it's the wrong ones, then the process is similar, but you'll choose "Replace Parents" instead of "Remove". Before you click the pencil stub, click and copy the ID of the correct mother so that you can use Find By ID instead of searching by name. Once you've found the correct mother, click Add Match, then Select Couple. Type in a reason, then click Replace.

Many thanks. I thought I had followed those steps previously but nothing happened. This time it worked. Your help is much appreciated.
