Can you help me find what I entered in my family tree?

As suggested by FamilySearch to tell of an ancestries story I have wasted hours writing the story of my father Alfred Martindale When the work was finished I pressed "Save" and I don't know how to retrieve it or where it has gone. It has to be somewhere. Please find it for me so that I can get on with the other questions

Firstly, you have posted your query under an inappropriate Discussion item, which is also an "Indexing" query.
However, in answer to your specific query, unfortunately it appears you have lost all the work you have typed, as (in common with some other websites) you have been timed-out without warning and there is no opportunity to "Save" your partly-completed work during the process.
Like many others, you have learnt a lesson the "hard way": of always typing anything of this nature (even if a relatively short piece) outside of Family Tree - in "Word", or similar - then using copy / paste to add to the Life Sketch section, or wherever.
Many agree that there should be a warning to save your work before you are timed-out. However, this still would not work if you were distracted by something and/or had moved away from the screen for a while.
Incidentally, I am not an employee of FamilySearch - just someone who has shared a similar (though not quite so drastic) experience as yours.
By the way, even if compiling a story in (say) Word, make sure you "save" it regularly, as a power outage might also cause you to lose some or all of what you have been typing.
