Import GEDCOM
I have exported my family tree in MyHeritage to a GEDCOM file and tries to import in my FamilySearch tree. But import fails with message: ! Unable to upload your file, please try again later. I have tried later several times with same error message. I have tried different uploads: 1) upload complete GEDCOM file of 248 persons, pictures and albums 2) upload GEDCOM file 248 persons without pictures and albums 3) upload GEDCOM file 100 persons without pictures and albums 4) upload GEDCOM file 5 persons without pictures and albums. More of these uploads tried more times. Don't know what goes wrong. Please help!? Attached my GEDCOM file (with extension TXT, as extension GED is not allowed.

I have tried uploading your file using both a Church member and a non-,member account (sometimes the two give different results) and succeeded both times.
I suggest you try the following:
- Try again - there may have been a temporary glitch.
- Have you turned your computer off since last trying? If not then reboot.
- Try using a different browser
- Check that your browser is up-to-date (eg. for Chrome, click on the three vertical dots on the far right, click help, click About Google Chrome)
- Clear FamilySearch cookies - go to https://www.familysearch.org/cookies
- If all of the above do not work, try clearing all of your temporary files and cookies in your browser (for Chrome this is the 3 dots again, Settings, Security & Privacy, Clear browsing data).
Hopefully one of these will do the job!

Hi Graham,
In Google Chrome I have succeeded in uploading GEDCOM file. Apparently I have 2 succesful uploads!? One to Tree Name Paulsen-Jepsen Website and one to Paulsen-Jepsen slægtstræ. Click on Paulsen-Jepsen Website opens tab Genealogies for Paulsen-Jepsen Website with a search dialog! But where can I find the entire tree for my upload? Or how can I convert my Pedigree Resource File to a Family Tree?

You can also find your two trees by clicking Search in the bar at the top, Genealogies in the sub-menu then scroll to the bottom and click Upload. This is how you would have uploaded your files in the first place. That will then display your uploaded trees as well as giving you the option to upload a new one. As I assume your two trees are identical, you can then delete one if you wish (see the bin icon on the right).
One option is to click View. What this will do is allow you to compare individuals in your GEDCOM file with information already in Family Tree. Persons in your file not in Family Tree can be added. If people are already in Family Tree but you have additional information or information is incorrect on Family Tree, you can update it. This must be done person by person and therefore will take a lot of time but is still much quicker than trying to compare information from, say, a family tree program to that in Family Tree.
You cannot transfer your GEDCOM file in bulk into Family Tree. This is because the system is trying to avoid creating duplicates to make the database more manageable (big as it is!!).
There is an article on this subject at
This discourages you from transferring information but there is nothing fundamentally wrong with doing it provided you exercise some care.
I see that you have a number of living people in your GEDCOM. So I have taken the liberty of deleting it from your original post and I will delete the copy I took. You may also wish to delete these from your GEDCOM file and upload a new version whilst deleting the old one. If you add these into Family Tree they will be private and can only be seen by you. If someone else adds these same people to Family Tree they will be private to that person and thus more than one record will be created. Again, there is an article on this subject
I hope this helps. Feel free to ask any further questions.
Regards
Graham
