Where did FamilySearch find their information?
I have an ancestor that I'm looking for more information on death date and burial- William Nix, ID LC54-YX5. His death date and general burial place were input by FamilySearch but I can't find any supporting information. There's no sources listed that are related to his death. Where would FamilySearch have gotten this date? I have conflicting information and I'm not sure how reliable this listed information is. Thank you for your input in advance!☺️

It's weird: the detail page and the change log contradict each other.
The detail page credits the name, birth, christening, and death to "sheepahoy" in March and April 2013, the sex to "joyceellensmith1" in May 2012, and the burial to "Eileen Annette Rogers" in 2020.
The change log credits "FamilySearch" with every change through May of 2012, then lists a bunch of changes by "JOANHMERIWETHER1" in October 2012, then a new round of changes in March and April of 2013 by "sheepahoy". "Bev Mitchell" is credited with more changes in November 2013, and then "joyceellensmith1" finally shows up with a single source attachment in June 2014.
In any case, you can try sending messages to all of these users, but after nearly a decade, your chances of success are pretty low. It seems pretty clear that whatever the detail page says, this profile was originally entered in FS's prior system, which was used to "seed" the then-brand-new Family Tree in 2012. Unfortunately, the import process lost contributor information and most sources.

Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
As, I am "Related" ...
FYI
On the contrary ...
'FamilySearch', DID NOT, "Create", that record, for William NIX ( LC54-YX5 ).
I would humbly suggest, that the record for William NIX ( LC54-YX5 ), was most likely "Created", by the User/Patron, with the "Contact Name" of 'joyceellensmith1'.
And, that record for William NIX ( LC54-YX5 ), would have been brought across, from the predecessor, to "Family Tree"; being, "New.FamilySearch".
As such ...
You may like to consider, sending a 'Message', to 'joyceellensmith1', through "User Messaging", in 'FamilySearch'. You may get a response; but, do not get disappointed, if you DO NOT; as, there are MANY "Reasons", WHY Users/Patrons, do not respond.
Good Luck.
I hope, that this may help/assist, somewhat.

ps: It would appear, from the "Sources" attached, to William NIX ( LC54-YX5 ), that he came from the "International Genealogical Index" (IGI); which, was even BEFORE, "New.FamilySearch" - So, all said and done, a very OLD record, created by a User/Patron, who was a member of the Church.

Furthermore ...
Just in case ...
In relation, to using "User Messaging", in 'FamilySearch' ...
Here are some "Knowledge Article", in 'FamilySearch':
How do I use FamilySearch Messages?
https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-use-familysearch-messages
How do I send a message to someone who contributed to Family Tree or Memories?
Good Luck
I hope, that this may also help/assist, somewhat.
