Clarify use of Community Categories
I really like the yellow box that recently appeared at the top of the Suggest an Idea page here:
and the pink box that I see right now as I am writing this:
Please develop similar boxes for the other categories, particularly for the General Questions category. For that one I would include a statement that all temple related questions should be posted in the Temple category, with a link to that category.
The current description of the General Questions category, "Can't find a category that fits? Post your question here." is so vague that that category gets a lot of questions that should go elsewhere. I would guess because people don't bother looking for other categories and therefore don't find them.

Currently, the Indexing category has a note below reading: "Ask about making historical records searchable online." However, when I posted a general query there I was advised it (the Indexing category) was meant to be reserved for indexers' questions about the batches they were working on!
Hopefully, Gordon's idea will be taken on board, but there will be some thought given about the text in the box, so the wording really does relate to the correct usage / purpose of any particular category in Community.

I saw the yellow box posted above posted by Gordon and thought it is a good improvement and "better late than never".
However, I could not see the pink box posted by Gordon. I thought maybe the pink box only appears when you are writing a new post. Then I could not find the button to make new posts.
Thinking perhaps the yellow box posted above by Gordon was obscuring the new post button, I closed down the yellow box. Then I discovered the yellow box has seemingly disappeared for ever, as it does not now display at the top of the Suggest an Idea page.
It seems very strange to me the the yellow box wording should only appear once. Surely it should be there all the time. I can't see anything which suggests you can re-instate the message, or that there are instructions you should read.
Eventually I found the button for new posts (but had the widen out the webpage considerably), and yes that is when the pink box appears.
I agree with the comments above that there should be more details provided about the purpose of other categories of posts. I also made similar suggestions prior to the upgrade of Community some months ago, however no extra information was provided as part of the upgrade.
