Content won't load
I've been using the familysearch high school yearbook collection for many weeks. For the last 2 days the content from these yearbooks won't download properly on any browser I try (I've tried 4 different browsers). I've contacted chat twice and their suggestions don't help. I have a super fast computer with plenty of memory. I've cleared the history and cache multiple times, and it does not fix the problem. The content I'm searching is the North Sanpete High School 1986 Yearbook, but I've found it with other years as well. There seems to be a problem on the familysearch end. Can you check it out?

I contacted a friend who is involved in gathering Utah high school yearbooks for digitization for familysearch, and he told me that they were redoing the search function for the yearbooks, which caused some chaos. It has been over a week since then, and my experience is that the system is up and down. Sometimes it load OK and sometimes not. Yesterday and today I have been having the same downloading problems. I have cleared my cache and cookies multiple times, tried a new browser to no avail. The web address is as follows for the current page I was working with:
Wildcat - 1985 (familysearch.org)
The content is very slow to load if it loads at all. I have to log out and back in and find the content again but have struggled to have the pages from the yearbooks load properly. I have a very high speed computer with plenty of memory, and I don't have problems with other websites loading quickly.
Thanks for your help

Yes - the new Books platform in Digital Library does load this book somewhat slowly (who knows what is going on in the background - probably access/permissions issue) - but it does eventually load (even though the cover page indicates "Limited permission" - it should be viewed at a Family History Center... ). It does seem there are some problems because Search> Books does not open for me at all (it just refreshes the screen) ... Or I just got a "502 bad gateway" screen. Maybe 'changes' they worked on last night are finalizing rolling out - perhaps things will 'settle down' in a few days (hopefully) - enjoy the access while you can.

I am not connected with FamilySearch.
What part of FamilySearch is this collection? Can you provide a URL.
I searched in Collections (Records) and in the Catalog and Digital Library and could not see what you are referring to.
There do seem to be problems with the Digital Library currently.

@dalegardnerbailey1 - Would you be happy to share more information with us, please?
- The operating system of your computer, making sure that it is the most current version
- The browsers and the versions you've tried
Can you also describe in more detail what happens, step by step?
Does the page time out? Are you able to download some of the information, but not the rest?
Finally, would you please tell us the advice you were given by chat so we don't simply repeat what they said?

Yeh I dont know when they installed the new app\
but I get the impression it was recently and that things are now very unstable
even the search option for searching the library seems to not quite be working right,
I'm not real happy with the way the default search is currently set up for finding a specific digital book.
as usual they seem to let the end users do all the testing of how it works instead of it going through normal QA testing.

Clicking on the Wildcat link in the post above, I very briefly get a message above the cover image that the book can be viewed in the Family History Library, a Family History Center or a Partner Library. I am not a church member, I do not know whether the message varies according to church status. The message then vanishes. I am considered signed to Family Search, as a box underneath the cover image says "View Inside" even though I am NOT in one of the places where I am eligible to view the book.
When I click on View Inside I can see the Book cover, and part of another page, but the rest of the pages are black. Hard to know if this is related to slow loading, or restricted access conditions, or poor programming.
My own view is that if the book has restricted viewing conditions, this message should be permanent and not vanish after a few seconds, and the box underneath the cover should NOT say "View Inside" as this leads to confusion.
