I am Marty Williamson. I found myself listed twice as daughter. My parents only had one daughter with my name. How do I delete one?

This software is impossible to navigate.😪

    How do I delete a name that was added twice by mistake?

    Software would not let me correct this mistake.

    @MartyWilliamson

    If you have yourself listed twice in Family Tree, one can not be deleted, because it is the Root Person, the one you used to create your account. You should be able to delete the second one, by clicking on your name, clicking your name again, to bring up the Details page. Now scroll down right for the Tools section, and click "Delete Person" giving the reason it is a duplicate.

    The above article link may be helpful.

    Wishing you success.

    First make sure BOTH records are listed as LIVING. (its possible someone else added your duplicate record and marked it as deceased) - not a good thing.

    if you now see that both records are marked as living Then you can proceed with a MERGE

    merging is almost always better than deleting.
