Memories
If I tag a living person in a memory, it isn't searchable.
- Does it become public when the living person dies?
- If I put a living person's name in the Title, is it searchable online?
- Or are the tagged memories the only searchable names online?
- What is a Read Only memory?
Thank you so much.
Asking for a friend. hahahaha

1st, you are the only person who can add death information for a living person you add to Family Tree. So if you die before you change the status from living to deceased no other user can see that IDs “details page” with associated vitals, relationships, sources, or memories.
In my experience, if the name of a living person appears in the title or description of a memory, or in the 1st 250 characters of a story, a Text search under Find in memories will locate the memory even if the submitter tags it to a living ID.
You will not be able to “see” the tag, or navigate from the memory to that living person’s details page.
You will be able to bookmark the memory, and if the memory is in an album, you can navigate to the album & view every public memory in the album.

depends what you mean by "searchable"
any PUBLIC item in Memories is searchable by key words in the description of the title. (even if it is linked to a living person)

NOTE: Memories are !!not!! SEARCHABLE by the name of the person they are tagged to (living or dead)
they are searchable by keywords in the title, description or content.
as an example most of the items linked to myself are not searchable by my name ("Dennis Yancey")
simply because I have (intentionally) left off my name on the title
But there are a couple that currently can be SEARCHED by typing in DENNIS AND YANCEY
but again only searchable because my name is in the TITLE
on the contrary if you DONT want people to find your items in memories - you can intentionally LEAVE OFF the title and description.
ALSO be aware that if you use MULTIPLE TERMS in your Memories FIND
you need to use AND (in capital letters) between the terms for the search to find items that have BOTH terms.
here is the Memories SEARCH page:

. . . again - the best way to search for items that pertain to a specific person - is simply to go to the Family Tree record page of that person and see what has been attached to the memories tab.
The Memories FIND page is for looking for items across ALL of Family Search Memories by KEYWORD (or SUBJECT as a keyword)
